Black Watch ended 2009 with a bang…
It’s been a busy anniversary month here at Black Watch Productions. First we did a video project for Montreal-based toy company, Wowee, and their hot new item, Paper Jamz. Next, we did a two-day, two-camera blue screen shoot for CNN, featuring familiar faces like Larry King, Lou Dobbs and Anderson Cooper. Then, we hit the road for two weeks, shooting PSA’s and corporate videos for the USO. We spent a week at Fort Bliss in El Paso, and a week shooting at various military bases in and around San Diego. Finally, May was capped off with a sales film for Emerilware and Grope SEB, featuring the great chef himself. Here’s hoping for a happy, busy summer for all!
May 1, 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of Black Watch Productions, Inc. Think about that for a moment… twenty years as a full-service production company in the volatile, ultra competitive market that is New York City. It’s taken time, great friends and lots of good work to build ourselves up from a small space on West 89th street to our expansive Murray Street loft.
Black Watch Executive Producer John Anderson traveled to Dayton, Ohio to shoot a spot that answered the question, “How Do You Iron Chef?” Local Uber Chef Cooking Competition Champions, Stephanie and Paul engaged in a spirited, Italian-themed cook-off, which featured the new Pizza Hut lasagna as the main course. Thanks to her overwhelming victory in the appetizer category, Stephanie eked out a narrow win over Paul, who took the salad and dessert rounds. The spot was shot on location at The King’s Table in Beavercreek and was also postproduced by Black Watch Productions.
Since the new year, Black Watch has also shot with Emeril Lagasse at the Martha Stewart Test Kitchen for Groupe SEB, and with Devin Wenig, the CEO of Thomson Reuters at their headquarters in Times Square.
Once again, the “Nonsolomoda” television crew chose Black Watch to provide production services for their exploration of the “New Harlem,” that will air on the popular lifestyle show in Milan. These wonderful folks have been coming to the States for nearly ten years now to shoot the new, hot trends in fashion, food, architecture, the arts and have engaged Black Watch as their production guide on their journeys of discovery.
Welcome to the new Black Watch Productions, Inc. website! Imagined by Monica Anderson, with tons of input from everyone on the staff, and constructed by our animator /special effects editor Whitney James Krape, the new site is lighter, faster and easier to navigate, placing an emphasis on the extensive content produced by Black Watch Productions.

CNN chose Black Watch Productions to cover the November 4th CNN Viewing Party in New York City’s Times Square. Black Watch Productions covered the event for CNN’s on air promotions department. Two teams filmed the event all over Times Square from the buildings above to the ground below providing efficient, flexible coverage for CNN writer/producer Margaret Anthony on this wild, wacky, wonderful evening. Black Watch had provided similar services for CNN Viewing Parties on the final nights of both the Democratic and Republican Conventions.
